Kim Racette
Since 2004, I’ve supported birthing women as a certified doula with specialized training in HypnoBirthing, water birth, placenta encapsulation, and craniosacral techniques. My work is rooted in deep empathy and a lifelong passion for nurturing, shaped by both personal and professional experience. My mission is to help families create uplifting and empowering birth stories, just as I’ve been blessed to experience with my own children.
Laura Dehne
I’m a certified labor and birth doula with a deep-rooted passion for supporting all types of birth experiences, shaped by my time as a volunteer with the UNMH Birth Companion program. I offer nonjudgmental, evidence-based support and practical tools to help you feel informed, confident, and calm throughout your pregnancy and birth. Outside of birth work, I enjoy my rose garden, long walks with my dog, and relaxing with a good book.
Kaitlin Kelly-Thomas
As a licensed massage therapist, hypnotherapist, and mother, I view birth as a powerful initiation and believe deeply in the importance of support throughout the entire journey. My own experience with a doula showed me how vital that presence can be, and I now offer that same emotional, physical, and educational support to others. My goal is to equip you and your birth team with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to create a birth experience that aligns with your unique vision.
McKenna Matins
I’m the owner of The Gentle Hour Birth Services, a certified birth doula, childbirth educator, and Level III nursing student on the path to becoming a midwife. Rooted in a deep love for family and a belief in nurturing those who nurture others, I offer calm, heart-centered support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Whether through advocacy, education, or presence, my goal is to hold space for your unique journey—so you feel supported, informed, and empowered every step of the way.

The Area We Are Proud to Serve
Rooted in Connection, United in Purpose
Doulas of the Southwest is a professional connection point for independently practicing doulas serving Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, the East Mountains, Los Lunas, and surrounding communities in Central New Mexico. While each of us maintains a private practice, we come together to offer community education, advocacy, and accessible information about doula care. We are not a shared business, agency, or collective—just a network of passionate birth workers collaborating in spirit and support.
