| Fees for Doula Services |
| "A doula for every woman who wants one!" Doulas are independent contractors who set their own fees. The standard rate being charged in the southwest region can range anywhere from $400-$600 for a private doula. Please bear in mind that each Doula has varying credentials (Certified Doula, Childbirth Educator, Midwife, Student Doula, etc.), experience and services. Some are willing to work with you via a sliding scale, payment plan, or other arrangements that will enable you to afford doula services. Doula fees are set at the time you hire your Doula and usually include not only attendance at your birth but also a prenatal and postnatal visit as well as phone consulations during your pregnancy. They are not contingent on how long or short your labor is. Student Doulas are working towards their certification and often offer discounted services while in training. This may be an option if you feel you simply cannot afford to contribute financially at this time. Please check our "Meet the Doulas" page for a listing of Certified Doulas.
